  10. The keywords here are niceness & tact. If someone asks about emulators, you
  11. don't need to rant on about how crap you think emulators are, or how crap
  12. you think people-who-think-emulators-are-crap are. Either simply ignore the
  13. question or reply by e-mail, telling the person that they are in the wrong
  14. newsgroup and point them in the right direction.

  16. I moderate the danish Roleplaying echo on fidonet. Once in a while some
  17. newbie asks about computer-, board- or card-games. I personally don't like
  18. people who think those subjects has anything to do with what I define as
  19. real roleplaying games, but I don't let that show in my replies.

  21. In short: Don't yell "moron!" at people, but gently nudge them in the
  22.           right direction.

  24. If anything has caused deterioration in this newsgroup it is the general
  25. hostility. People tend to answer the posts at an emotional high, instead of
  26. being calm about it. If something upsets you, wait 24 hours before
  27. answering, and ask youself if you still feel the same way about it.
